About
This Is Us
Smith-Searle is named after my great-grandfather; a father of 12 and from a long line of agricultural workers. His name means 'maker of armour' which seemed fitting for our family enterprise responding to the need for accessible advocacy, community, empowerment and support for families who have a child / young person with SEND.
We have been navigating the systems surrounding SEND for 14 years as a family. Getting the right support has always been a fight, but more recently we are meeting more and more parents / carers who are struggling to cope with the demands placed on them, in particular issues with EHCPs, school liaison and DLA applications. We have over 20 years as healthcare and educational professionals; the combined roles place us well to be able to provide an up-to-date advice and support service.
We will build empowering, therapeutic relationships with our clients. This approach will allow a balanced, healthy and long lasting connection which will enable parents / carers to continue to support their child / young person, get help with form filling (the dreaded side of being a carer!), and have a safe space to seek help.
